I have been working in early childhood education for the last 10 years. I'm originally from the midwest and studied Movement and Sports Science in college there. However, God had other plans and moved
me out to Seattle in 2015 to start my career in childcare. I've taught in Infant and Toddler classrooms, nannied infant to 6 year olds, and most recently been an assistant director at a corporate daycare. My passion though is to work directly with kids. I love learning who they are and getting to be a part of their figuring out the world and early development. When I'm not at work, I'm outside in the mountains. I'm an avid hiker, mountaineer, and rock climber. I love getting to explore God's beautiful creation in remote places. I can occasionally be found working on an arts and crafts project or baking!

I grew up in eastern Washington, and have been around children for as long as I can remember. While my mom was an elementary school principal, I found jobs as a babysitter through middle and high school, and my first ever job was helping at a daycare! Aside from that, I've consistently volunteered in my church's nursery, Sunday school classrooms, or VBS programs for many years.
I originally moved to Seattle to study at the University of Washington, and graduated with double majors in Psychology, and Law, Societies and Justice (LSJ), with a minor in dance. I love anything involving creative solutions, music, and movement, and especially enjoy the chance to share that with little ones who are finding their own. When I'm not songwriting or playing guitar, you may find me at a climbing gym nearby, baking cookies (again), or following along to a watercoloring tutorial.

I am so excited to be a teacher at Little Lights! I’m currently studying psychology and nursing at Seattle Pacific University and have such a heart for working with kids. I love helping children build confidence, work through big feelings, and discover the gifts God gave them.
I’ve worked as a nanny, swim instructor, gymnastics teacher, and paraprofessional in a special education classroom, and every role has grown my love for supporting kids in their early years. It is such a joy to get to be part of their learning and growth!
Outside of school and work, I love spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and staying involved in my church. I feel so grateful to be part of the Little Lights family!

JJ and Krista Breilh have two daughters of their own who attend Little Lights. They started this daycare out of a need for their own family’s needs and not being able to find it. Krista and JJ both work in ministry and love creating spaces of belonging and being known.
